The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal is a four-star, 99-bedroom hotel with restaurant, bar, 6 conference rooms, 2 banqueting suites, pub on site, leisure club and treatment rooms. Job Overview
To be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Some housekeeping/cleaning experience (not essential).
- A keen eye for detail with high standards of work.
- A friendly approachable manner with a commitment to providing the highest standards of customer service.
Main Responsibilities
Clean and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas according to hotel standards. Ensure tasks and rooms are completed within allotted time and ready for guests. Change bed linen, make beds and replace towels. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and fittings. Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors. Replenish supplies such as toiletries and towels. Ensure fixtures and fittings are well maintained, reporting issues where necessary. Report room status to Housekeepers. Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely. Maintain awareness of correct chemical usage in line with COSHH training. Follow hotel security procedures. Ensure guests' belongings are looked after and hand in and log lost property. Provide excellent customer service to guests, addressing any requests or concerns promptly and professionally.
Contract & Hours
This is a permanent role working 30 hours per week. Shifts will be worked 5 days out of 7 on a rolling rota basis including weekends. £10.00 (age 16-17), £10.50 (age 18-20), £12.50 (over 21). Sorry, no staff accommodation.
