Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be supporting the wider marketing and communications activity of the organisation, contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the marketing, PR, content and communications strategy for Visit Belfast; promoting Belfast as a top tourism destination for business, leisure and cruise, in line with Visit Belfast’s 3 year, 2024-2027 New Horizon’s strategy and operational.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, and coordinating integrated marketing and promotional campaigns across key markets, including Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Great Britain.
- Support and represent the wider Marketing and Communications team at events and meetings, delivering updates as required.
- Assist in coordinating and delivering press and marketing materials, including presentations, press releases, social media copy, briefing documents, and campaign plans.
- Maintain and update departmental files and evaluation reports to track campaign and project progress against KPIs, ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting.
- Coordinate and update communication and campaign activity schedules, providing support as required.
- Assist and deliver planned communications support to the Marketing and Communications, Business Tourism, and Visitor Servicing teams.
- Identify and create engaging, newsworthy content for offline and online marketing channels.
- Support the development and management of relationships with Visit Belfast’s partners, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.
- Assist the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager with budget administration, invoicing, and campaign evaluations.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all Visit Belfast departments to ensure integrated activity and consistency of information across the organisation.
- Ensure ongoing comprehensive Belfast and Northern Ireland product and campaign knowledge.
- Represent and be an ambassador for the Visit Belfast brand, its essence, and values.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Marketing and Communications team managers and Visit Belfast’s Senior Management team.
- Support, develop, and contribute to the achievement of annual Marketing and Communication targets.
- Available to work outside normal hours including attending evening/weekend industry & networking events.
- Carry out all duties with full regard to Visit Belfast’s equal opportunities and fair employment policies.

Person Specification
Essential
- Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent qualification OR 2 years relevant experience in marketing, communications, tourism, or a related environment.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in marketing, communication, or content creation. Minimum 2 years’ experience in writing and proofreading content with a high level of accuracy. Experience in planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating marketing campaigns.
- Special Aptitudes: Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office applications. Good creative skills. Strong administration and organisational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Qualification in a relevant discipline such as marketing, tourism/hospitality, or business studies.
- Experience in a tourism or hospitality-related environment.
- Clean driving license and access to own transport.
