Location: Hackney, London
VisionFR is delighted to be working with a Media Production Studio to find a new Finance Manager. This will be a sole role (Initially) reporting to a part-time Finance Director. The Finance Manager will be expected to ensure accurate financial reporting across business units and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team. This role will offer the opportunity to shape the finance function, drive business growth and make a tangible impact on the organisation’s financial health at a really exciting stage in the business’ growth.
The role of the Finance Manager
- Financial Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accounting records including general ledger entries, journal postings, and reconciliations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, monitor accounts, and oversee FX revaluation.
- Manage invoicing, accounts payable, and payroll in coordination with external providers.
- Oversee tax credit applications in liaison with external accountants.
- Manage and reconcile credit card expenses, and general operating expenses.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including management accounts, P&L forecasts, and budgets.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory returns (PAYE & VAT) with external accountant support.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and track key business KPIs.
- Identify and implement automation and process enhancements.
- Maintain robust financial governance and efficiency in reporting and compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls, ensure IFRS compliance, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide financial insights to senior leadership and report potential financial risks.
- Assist leadership with financial planning and decision-making.
- Oversee finance-related activities and contribute to ad hoc projects as required.
Skills & Experience of the Finance Manager
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Expertise in financial management, reporting, forecasting, and treasury
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Proven ability to drive commercial performance as a strategic business partner
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Google Sheets/Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively
- Adaptable, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture
