VocalEyes is looking for a Training and Consultancy Manager to lead the delivery and ongoing development of our training programme and help shape our wider consultancy and advocacy work.

VocalEyes is an arts organisation and charity that works with and for blind and visually impaired people, creating accessible performances, events and digital media for arts and heritage venues across the UK, primarily through audio description services and training.

This is a new role and an exciting opportunity for someone who combines lived experience with expertise in training, excellent communication skills and a commitment to improving accessibility across the arts and heritage sectors.

Working with our experienced freelance trainers, describers and consultants, you will:

  • Deliver and develop visual awareness, co-creation and bespoke accessibility training;
  • Provide consultancy and accessibility advice;
  • Build relationships across the arts, heritage and disability sectors;
  • Help identify opportunities to develop our services.

Hours: 21 hours / 3 days per week

Location: London-based, predominantly remote working with in-person meetings and training delivery. Travel may be required.

Occupational Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, being blind or visually impaired is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. The postholder will draw on their lived experience to deliver training and represent the perspectives of blind and visually impaired people.
