About Us:

We are working with a thriving and popular Catholic primary school in Romford who are on the lookout for a Teaching Assistant. The school focuses on providing an environment in which pupils are happy, challenged and secure. The school is looking for a strong and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils within groups in a classroom. For this Teaching Assistant role, the school is looking for someone who can take initiative, ‘read the classroom’ and act accordingly to support the pupils. You must be adaptable and engage with all the children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting young children with SEN
  • Work with a team of adults to support all children under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a school as a Teaching Assistant
  • Have a basic understanding of behaviour management
  • Experience working with children with additional needs as a Teaching Assistant
