SEN schools in Croydon are looking for confident Sports Coaches who can bring energy, leadership and structure into the classroom. Many pupils respond well to adults who understand teamwork, clear boundaries and positive reinforcement. Sports coaches often translate extremely well into these environments because they are used to managing groups, setting standards and motivating young people. You’ll work alongside teachers and behaviour staff supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities, helping them stay engaged with learning while building positive relationships. What the role involves • Supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities • Acting as a positive role model in the classroom • Helping pupils stay engaged with learning • Supporting behaviour and encouraging teamwork • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff This role works particularly well for • Sports Coaches • Football / boxing / fitness coaches • PE Graduates • Youth Workers • Behaviour Mentors • Teaching Assistants Experience working with young people, sports teams, youth groups or mentoring environments is highly valued. Schools are looking for people who bring • Confidence and strong presence • Clear communication and leadership • The ability to build respect with pupils • Consistency and reliability An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly desirable. These roles can begin after a successful trial and interview, with schools looking to secure strong staff either this term (April start) or for September depending on the right fit.
