The predicted salary is between 15.3 - 18.7 Β£ per hour.
We are recruiting on behalf of a highways contractor for the Bournebridge Hill, Halstead Section 278 Highway Works scheme in Essex. A full-time supervisor is in place on site to handle paperwork; we need a competent team to build the job. This is a long-term opportunity running through to December 2026.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday | 07:30 - 16:30
- Occasional Saturdays | 07:30 - 12:00 (full day pay)
The Role:
You will work as part of a three-man gang on a live highways scheme, carrying out kerb laying and general groundworks activities across the site.
Scope of works includes:
- Installing kerbs, edgings and tactile paving
- Drainage installation including ditches and new surface water drainage runs
- Carriageway construction support works
- General highways groundworks
Requirements:
- Proven kerb laying experience (essential)
- Previous highways or civils groundworks experience
- CSCS card (essential)
- NRSWA Streetworks Operative ticket (at least one per gang essential)
- Full 6-point PPE including fireproof overalls
- Available to start 27th July 2026 (no exceptions)
- Able to commit to the full duration through to December 2026
