We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist construction contractor working on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK. Hinkley Point C is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations, with two new nuclear reactors currently under construction in Somerset. This is a long-term, ongoing project offering exceptional career opportunity for the right candidate.
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the team at Hinkley Point C, overseeing construction activities on a highly regulated nuclear construction site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required standard within a strict compliance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day site operations across your designated area of works
- Supervising site operatives, subcontractors and trades
- Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in full compliance with site health and safety regulations
- Monitoring programme and ensuring works are delivered on time and to specification
- Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections
- Liaising with the client, project managers and engineering teams
- Maintaining accurate site records, diaries and progress reports
- Ensuring all personnel on site hold the correct tickets, clearances and inductions
- Enforcing strict site rules and nuclear safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven Site Manager experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- SMSTS qualification (essential)
- First Aid at Work
- CSCS card – Manager level
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment – nuclear, pharmaceutical, energy or similar preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously
- Full UK driving licence
Additional Requirements for Hinkley Point C:
- BPSS security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- EDF site induction (completed prior to start)
- Nuclear safety awareness training
