About the Role Our client is strengthening its Air Conditioning and HVAC capability with the appointment of an experienced Mobile AC/HVAC Engineer. This isn't a routine maintenance-only role — the portfolio ranges from smaller commercial AC systems (including a fixed-term maintenance contract for a national restaurant and pub operator) through to large, complex, multi-zone HVAC installations across casinos, cinemas and leisure venues. There's genuine scope to progress into a senior technical or supervisory position as the division grows. Key Responsibilities Planned Preventative Maintenance, reactive breakdowns and call-outs across commercial AC/HVAC systems Systematic fault finding, diagnostics and testing to identify root causes Repairs, remedial works, and small installation/replacement works Identifying follow-on works and providing accurate technical information to support quotations Producing clear technical reports (faults, works completed, equipment condition, recommended action) Liaising directly with manufacturers and suppliers on parts, compatibility and technical support Completing job sheets, service reports and updating CAFM/client portal systems via handheld devices Managing workload independently across multiple client sites Maintaining van stock and working to Health & Safety standards Participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota Equipment & Systems Experience Essential: Split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, wall-mounted, cassette, ducted systems, condensing units, heat pumps, FCUs, AHUs, package units, HVAC controls — with strong experience on larger commercial systems particularly important. Desirable: Chillers, close-control/precision cooling, BMS interfaces, commercial ventilation, refrigeration systems. Qualifications & Experience Essential: F-Gas Category 1 Strong commercial AC service/maintenance experience, including larger systems and VRV/VRF Proven reactive fault-finding and diagnostic capability Experience with repairs, component replacement, and small installation works Full UK driving licence Strong Health & Safety understanding; able to work at height Confident producing technical reports and using job-management/CAFM systems Desirable: NVQ/City & Guilds AC or Refrigeration qualification Manufacturer training (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Panasonic, Fujitsu, etc.) IPAF, PASMA, CSCS/ECS Experience in cinemas, casinos, hospitality or multi-site estates Overtime Time and a half: 17:01–23:59 Mon–Fri, and Saturdays Double time: 00:00–05:59, Sundays, and Bank Holidays Call-Out Approximately 1 week in every 5, supporting out-of-hours emergency attendance.
