Vision Personnel are recruiting an experienced Estimator on behalf of a well-established, family-run main contractor based in Northeast London. Following a significant increase in workload, this is an urgent requirement, and our client is looking to interview immediately.
Specialising in fit out and refurbishment, the business has a strong pipeline of projects across both internals and externals. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a close-knit team where their contribution will have real impact.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for fit out and refurbishment projects
- Produce accurate quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and compare quotations
- Analyse tender documents and identify risk, value engineering opportunities, and scope gaps
- Work closely with the commercial and project teams throughout the pre-construction phase
- Maintain pricing databases and ensure estimates reflect current market rates
- Support the handover of projects from estimating to delivery teams
- Attend pre-tender site visits and client meetings where required
- Proven estimating experience within fit out and refurbishment both internals and externals essential
- Strong working knowledge of construction costs, trades packages, and supply chain pricing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience using estimating software and/or Excel-based pricing tools
- Commercially aware with a solid understanding of contract types (JCT, NEC, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Strong communication skills able to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Relevant construction qualification desirable (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience)
