Vision for Education Teachers are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and nurture students' talents in drama and theatre. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality drama lessons, fostering a love for the performing arts, and contributing to the school’s vibrant cultural life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative drama lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Develop and implement a diverse and challenging drama curriculum that includes both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject
  • Direct and produce school productions, plays, and other performances, involving students in all aspects of theatre production
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic and academic development
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and confidence
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the performing arts department and other subjects to enhance students' learning experiences
  • Participate in and contribute to the wider school community, including organizing and supporting extracurricular activities related to drama and the performing arts
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest trends and practices in drama education

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related field
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching drama
  • Experience teaching drama at the secondary level, including KS4 and KS5
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities

Desirable

  • Experience in directing or producing school plays and performances
  • Familiarity with modern educational technology and its application in drama teaching
  • A record of achieving strong student outcomes in drama
