This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wigan on a full-time cover starting June 2026. As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for leading classes in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-set lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment. You’ll support students with their work, manage behaviour effectively, complete registers, and provide clear handover information to teaching staff. You’ll be joining a dedicated and collaborative school, with access to good facilities, specialist resources, and free onsite parking.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor in secondary schools
  • Be confident managing classrooms and maintaining a calm, focused learning environment
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to supporting young people’s learning and development
  • Be able to provide suitable references, hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS, and have the Right to Work in the UK
