Year 5/6 Class Teacher

Near Uckfield, East Sussex

£168 – £233 per day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications and will be discussed at registration)

The School and Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Year 5/6 Class Teacher to join a successful, small rural primary school near Uckfield on a full-time, fixed-term basis from February 2026 until August 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a close-knit school community with supportive leadership and engaged pupils. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the Year 5/6 curriculum, supporting pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school while promoting both academic achievement and personal development. The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos, strong community links, and commitment to providing a rich and well-rounded education in a calm rural setting.

The ideal Year 5/6 Class Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 and/or Year 6)
  • A secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
