Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Catholic Primary School in Newcastle for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 until July 2027. The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a sports, coaching or PE background to support pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support, deliver small group interventions and promote positive engagement through physical activity and sport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, wellbeing and helping children develop both academically and physically. The role would suit a Teaching Assistant, sports coach, PE graduate or individual with experience working with primary‑aged children in a sporting environment.
Requirements
- Have experience working with primary‑aged children.
- Have a sports coaching, PE, physical education or related background.
- Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Be confident supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2.
- Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Be enthusiastic, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have experience supporting children with additional needs and adapting activities to meet individual requirements.
- Be committed to supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
