Salary: £14.24 p/h – higher rates available depending on experience/qualifications

Ready to kickstart your career as a Behaviour Mentor? Vision for Education are excited to offer the opportunity to become a Behaviour Mentor in SEN Schools in the Taunton area. Our National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP) provides excellent online training in courses such as Safeguarding, Understanding SEN, Behaviour Management and an Introduction into becoming a Teaching Assistant. These courses are a requirement after a successful interview, and are beneficial to gain knowledge in these topics prior to gaining hands-on classroom experience.

We are currently recruiting Trainee Behaviour Mentors for permanent, temporary, and long-term supply positions across a network of high-performing and outstanding schools in Taunton, Somerset.

As a Trainee Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, autism, and additional learning needs
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
  • Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Helping pupils with literacy, numeracy, and emotional regulation
  • Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

As a Trainee Behaviour Mentor, you will work in welcoming, inclusive, and well-resourced schools that:

  • Are rated Outstanding or Good by Ofsted
  • Have strong leadership teams and supportive SEN departments

  • Provide nurturing environments for pupils with SEND, SEMH, EAL, and additional needs

Pay & Hours: £14.24 p/h (PAYE) Monday - Friday 08:30am - 15:30pm, term time only.
