Are you looking to start or build your experience as a Classroom Support Assistant in Somerset? Vision for Education are recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant to work in supportive schools across the Somerset area, helping children with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential. This role is easily accessible from Taunton, Bridgwater and the surrounding areas.
About the Role:
As a Classroom Support Assistant, you'll support children across KS1 and KS2 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, PMLD, challenging behaviours, Social Emotional Mental Health and other SEND requirements.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Help pupils build confidence and independence
- Work alongside teachers and other support staff
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Follow individual support plans where appropriate
What we're looking for:
- Experience in education, care, youth work or coaching is beneficial but not essential
- A calm, patient and positive approach
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- A genuine passion for supporting children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
