Vision for Education are looking to register Teaching Assistants with a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent, for primary schools based in and surrounding the Gowerton area of Swansea. You will be supporting children ranging from Foundation Phase to Key Stage 2 as either general classroom support or in small group settings. Through holding the Level 3 qualification you will also be able to work in Flying Start settings within schools if this is of interest to you. The work we offer will be on a supply basis so as and when schools require cover. We will be able to offer you short or long term placements depending on your availability.

This role requires highly motivated, committed, passionate and resilient Classroom Support Assistants with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the teacher alongside supporting the children throughout their day with various activities. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson preparations, setting the space up for the day, helping manage classroom behaviour, and offering additional guidance to pupils who need extra help. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach in everything they do.

The desired Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience of working with children, especially within a primary setting.
  • Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
  • The ability to work independently and lead small groups of children.
  • The ability to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
