Vision for Education are recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Coventry, supporting students within a PMLD specialist class group. This role involves supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex physical needs and sensory needs within a highly supportive and nurturing environment. The school is currently undergoing rapid expansion and is looking for compassionate staff who want to be part of the school’s long-term journey and development.

About the Class Group

  • Supports students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
  • May have complex medical, sensory and physical needs
  • Require high levels of support throughout the school day
  • Communicate through subtle facial expressions, sounds or movements
  • Learn through sensory experiences involving touch, sound and light

Students are highly dependent on staff for both learning and personal care support.

The Role

  • Support students with all aspects of daily care and learning
  • Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting and hygiene support
  • Assist with sensory-based learning activities
  • Build trusting and consistent relationships with students
  • Support communication and engagement throughout the day
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and medical professionals
