Vision for Education are recruiting Sports Coaches to transition into education as Cover Supervisors within secondary school settings. This role is ideal for confident, organised individuals with a background in sport, coaching, or youth work who are looking to gain classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classes during the short-term absence of the teacher, delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects, including practical-based lessons where appropriate. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment by managing behaviour, engaging students, completing registers, and providing feedback to teaching staff. Opportunities are available for day-to-day supply, longer-term placements, and potential permanent roles.
For those new to the role, we have developed an exceptional Cover Supervisor Training Programme, tailored to equip you with the skills needed for success.
Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet the Below)
- Have recent experience in sports coaching, PE, youth work, or education
- Be confident working with secondary-aged students
- Hold GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Be reliable, adaptable, and keen to work in a school environment
- A degree (or working towards one) is desirable but not essential
- Be able to provide suitable references, hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS, and have the Right to Work in the UK
