Join a leading education provider to work as a Mentor. You will play a vital role in assisting and empowering vulnerable learners to develop their skills, achieve their goals, and effectively prepare for adulthood. Your primary focus will be on providing support with the primary learning goal and basic skills to ensure their academic progress and personal growth.

You will manage your workload efficiently, supporting learners, measuring their progress, feeding back and maintaining accurate records that contribute to collaborative efforts ensuring the success of vulnerable learners. The main focus is supporting vulnerable learners often with SEN (but not exclusive – it could be students who are struggling to achieve or catch up), this may include helping to raise confidence, communication skills, organisational skills etc. The intervention aims to always have an academic or personal development goal.

We're looking for somebody empathetic, professional and with good organisational skills, particularly when it comes to managing student data and tracking progress.

Requirements:
  • Assess the needs of students referred for support by working closely with academic and support teams to design and deliver tailored interventions to students.
  • Provide 1-1 and small group support to vulnerable learners.
  • Manage workload efficiently to allow for planning, creation of resources and delivering interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records keeping track of learner progress.
  • Monitor and track student achievement and produce accurate and timely reports on the impact and progress of learners.
  • Facilitate academic support sessions that cover, but not exclusive to basic maths, English and primary learning goal support.
  • Provide skills support sessions that cover, but not exclusive to communication, confidence, time management that will prepare learners for adulthood.
