How to prepare for a job interview at Vision for Education

Know Your Subject Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on your Religious Studies knowledge. Be prepared to discuss key concepts, theories, and how you would approach teaching them at KS3 and KS4. This shows your passion and expertise, which schools are looking for in an ECT.

Showcase Your Classroom Management Skills

Think about how you would handle classroom situations and engage students. Prepare examples of how you've managed behaviour or created a positive learning environment during your training. Schools want to see that you can maintain a confident presence in the classroom.

Build Rapport with Interviewers

Remember, interviews are as much about personality as they are about qualifications. Be friendly, approachable, and show genuine interest in the school and its community. Building a connection can make a lasting impression on the interview panel.

Prepare Questions to Ask

Have a few thoughtful questions ready to ask your interviewers. This could be about their teaching philosophy, support for ECTs, or opportunities for professional development. It shows you're proactive and genuinely interested in the role and the school.
