The School and Role

A Local Council EHC Team are looking for a LAC Home Tutor who can teach Maths & English to students based in the home or foster care placements who are unable to attend education. As part of the role, the desired LAC Home Tutor will:

  • Work 1:1 with students to re-engage them with education,
  • Plan and delivering engaging lessons in core subejcts (Maths & English),
  • Support students during the transition to new school placements,
  • Liaise with schools, social workers and other professionals to provide regular updates on student progress
  • The LAC Home Tutor role is based in the East Riding area and is long term to provide consistency for students. Sessions can be one – five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student\’s needs.

    The desired LAC Home Tutor will have:

    – A teaching qualification

    – Experience of working with students with EHCPs

    – An ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions

    – A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people
