About the role

Long-Term Supply Teacher of History

Location: East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Long-Term Supply (Full-Time)
Salary: Β£162 – Β£251 per day (depending on experience)

Vision for Education are working in partnership with a large, inclusive 11–18 secondary school to appoint a Teacher of History for a long-term supply role starting February 2026 . This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed History Teacher at any stage of their career , including ECTs, who is keen to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Humanities provision.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with the possibility of Key Stage 5 teaching depending on experience. The department has a strong and growing uptake at GCSE and a developing Sixth Form cohort. Lessons follow the National Curriculum while also incorporating local, national, and international history , encouraging students to explore how key events and individuals have shaped the modern world.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement

  • Supporting students’ academic and personal development

  • Acting as a form tutor where required

  • Contributing to enrichment activities such as trips and extra-curricular learning
