Vision for Education are working with a range of SEND schools across Hereford to recruit compassionate and dedicated individuals from care, healthcare, and support backgrounds who are looking to transition into education. These specialist schools support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and complex needs. Many pupils require personal care, emotional support, sensory provision, and communication support throughout the school day.
As a Care to Classroom Support Assistant, you will use your existing care experience to support pupils with their daily needs while helping them engage in learning, develop independence, and feel safe and valued in a school environment. Full support, guidance, and SEND-focused CPD will be provided to help you transition confidently into an education setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal and emotional care for pupils with complex needs
- Support communication using visual and alternative methods
- Assist with feeding, mobility, and hygiene where required
- Support pupils in classroom learning and sensory activities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
