About the Role

Thinking about working in a school but don’t have experience yet? This is a way in. We’re looking for Trainee Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Bristol. You don’t need a background in education, we’ll train you and support you into your first placement. You’ll be working in real classrooms, building confidence and getting hands-on experience while learning on the job.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils in class, in small groups, or 1:1
  • Helping teachers with day-to-day classroom tasks
  • Supporting behaviour and keeping pupils engaged
  • Getting used to different school settings and routines
  • Building confidence working with children

National Teaching Assistant Programme

Before and during your placement, you’ll complete a set of straightforward, practical training courses:

  • Safeguarding
  • Behaviour Management
  • Introduction to being a Teaching Assistant
  • SEN awareness in schools and colleges

We’ll guide you through all of this - nothing is left for you to figure out on your own.

Placement & Support

  • We’ll help find your school placement
  • You’ll have a dedicated consultant checking in with you
  • Ongoing support while you’re in school
  • Help moving into longer-term or permanent roles if that’s what you want

Flexible Work

  • 0-hour contract - you choose when you’re available
  • Day-to-day work or longer placements
  • Fits around other commitments
