Vision for Education are recruiting experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils with complex needs in specialist settings across South Bristol. This role is suited to candidates who have worked within an SEN classroom environment and understand the level of support required for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will be working closely with students who may have ASD, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and associated behavioural or sensory needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, hands-on support and play a key role in a pupil’s daily development and progress.
As an SEN LSA, you may:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
- Support communication, engagement, and access to learning
- Follow EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Assist with personal care where required
- Use structured routines and tailored strategies to support pupils
- Help manage behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
- Create a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
Assignments can vary from short-term cover to long-term roles, with opportunities to secure permanent positions within specialist settings.
What We’re Looking For
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have experience working within an SEN classroom setting (essential)
- Be confident supporting pupils with complex needs
- Have a good understanding of ASD and communication needs
- Be patient, resilient, and consistent in your approach
- Be comfortable supporting behaviour and personal care
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential for candidates with the right level of experience.
