Job Summary
Lunchtime Supervisors are required to support pupils with autism, complex learning difficulties and additional needs within a specialist Birmingham school. Working 11:45amβ1:15pm, this rewarding role is ideal for caring, patient and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting young people within a safe and inclusive lunchtime environment.
The School and Role
Calthorpe Academy is a large specialist school supporting pupils aged 2β19 with autism, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs. The school is looking to appoint dedicated Lunchtime Supervisors to support pupils during lunch and break times between 11:45am and 1:15pm each day. Working alongside teaching and support staff, you will help pupils during mealtimes, encourage communication and independence, supervise playground and indoor activities, and provide personal care where required. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from education, care, residential or support work backgrounds looking for a rewarding part-time role.
Requirements
The desired Lunchtime Supervisor will have:
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable
- A caring, patient and proactive approach
- A willingness to support personal care where required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
