About the role

1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Full Time, Temporary)
South Tyneside (NE32)
£444.60 – £500 per week (salary is dependent upon experience and/or qualifications)

September 2025 – December 2025

The School and Role

We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a small primary school, operating at the heart of the community in South Tyneside. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be expected to deliver one-to-one support, working as part of an established team in the Key Stage 1 section of the school. The role would be Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm. This school operates within an ethos emphasising the creation of a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children. The school is ideally seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young children with special educational needs and disabilities, however would be open to other qualifications and experience if relevant.

Requirements

The desired Learning Support Assistant will have;

• Experience of working with primary school aged children
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND
• Experience delivering small group interventions and support
• A passion for ensuring the progress of early years pupils
• An ability to work as part of a team
• Ideally Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, however candidates with other relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
