About the School & Role:
In this role you will be working as a Learning Support Assistant in a specialist primary setting, supporting children with complex learning needs, including autism, in a structured and nurturing environment. The school provides personalised, inclusive education for pupils aged 5–11, with a strong focus on communication, independence and emotional wellbeing. In this role, you will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities, support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, and help implement individual education and behaviour plans. Daily responsibilities include:
- Adapting resources to meet a range of needs
- Using visual and sensory strategies
- Supporting communication development
- Assisting pupils with transitions throughout the day
- Managing behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
- Encouraging positive interactions
- Providing emotional reassurance
You will play a key role in creating a safe and engaging environment where every child can learn and thrive.
