Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive? We are seeking a caring and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our lively SEN school for secondary-aged students. Location: Bournemouth
Working Hours: Full-time (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Salary: £440 – £450 per week
Start Date: January 2026
About the School & Role:
Based in Bournemouth, our Alternative Provision school caters to secondary students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, including those displaying challenging behaviours. The successful Behaviour mentor will work either 1-1 or within small groups to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing tailored support for students with autism during lessons and activities
Helping implement personalised behaviour and learning support plans
Encouraging positive behaviour and social skills development
Assisting with communication and sensory needs
Building trusting relationships to foster independence and confidence
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs
Genuine enthusiasm for student development and well-being
Resilience, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
