About the Role
As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, personalised education to students with complex learning needs, including autism and challenging behaviours. You will be instrumental in shaping a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes growth, engagement, and success for each young person.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Develop and implement EHCPs and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and care staff to ensure a consistent, multi‑professional approach.
- Foster a safe, respectful and nurturing classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with families, carers, and external professionals.
- Promote students’ social, emotional, and academic development in line with the School Development Plan and regulatory standards.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly autism and/or SEMH
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- A compassionate, empathetic, and student‑centred approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to adapt teaching to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- A full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable due to the school's location.
