Vision for Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated Looked After Children (LAC) Tutor to work in person with cared-for children on a part-time basis in Preston. We are seeking an experienced LAC Tutor who can provide one-to-one tuition for students who are unable to attend an educational setting or require additional support in a specific curriculum area. Tuition sessions may range from 1 to 3 hours per day, both within and outside school hours, depending on the student’s timetable and individual needs.

We are looking for an LAC Tutor who can work on a one-to-one basis with students who have the following needs:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships and assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Plan and deliver Maths and English lessons.
  • Implement teaching and learning strategies based on the student’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), making necessary adjustments to maintain focus and motivation.
  • Liaise with schools to obtain schemes of work and report any concerns or issues as required.
  • Complete weekly reports detailing student engagement and attainment, as well as recording weekly attendance figures.

About the Role:

Tuition sessions may be requested by local authorities, mainstream schools, or alternative provisions.
