Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Blackpool, Lancashire? Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire to recruit a committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 9 student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

This is a full-time, temporary long-term role for the full academic year, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:05pm, term time only.

As a Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire, you will work closely on a 1:1 basis with a Year 9 student who has an EHCP, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 9 student with an EHCP.
  • Supporting the student to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
  • Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.
  • Building positive relationships with the student, staff and parents/carers.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Supporting the student's social, emotional and academic development.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

  • Have experience working with secondary age children.
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required.
