Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire to recruit a dedicated Science Technician to join their team from September 2026 on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Technician who enjoys supporting practical learning and ensuring science lessons run smoothly across Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

Role Details
  • Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
  • Working Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch, negotiable)
  • Pay: LCC Grade 3 or Grade 4 (depending on suitability and experience)
  • Contract: Temp-to-Perm with a 6-month casual contract probation period
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare classrooms and laboratories for Science lessons across Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
  • Set up practical experiments and equipment.
  • Maintain and organise laboratory resources.
  • Order and monitor science supplies and stock.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, stored and maintained safely.
  • Support teaching staff with practical lesson preparation.
  • Promote and follow health and safety procedures within the Science department.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Science Technician, laboratory assistant or in a similar practical environment is desirable.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
