Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire to appoint a dedicated Teacher of Design & Technology. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive department and make a real impact on students' learning and achievement.

Vision for Education is seeking a Teacher of Design & Technology in Blackpool, Lancashire for a long-term temporary role starting in September 2026, with no set end date. The successful Teacher of Design & Technology will primarily teach Resistant Materials while also supporting other areas within the Design & Technology department as required.

The school is a mixed secondary school serving the local community and was inspected by Ofsted in March 2026, with the report published in May 2026. The school continues to focus on delivering high-quality education, positive behaviour and strong outcomes for its pupils.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Supporting wider Design & Technology curriculum delivery
  • Planning and delivering engaging and practical lessons
  • Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress
  • Working collaboratively with an established DT department
  • Contributing positively to school life and departmental development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary setting
  • Knowledge of Resistant Materials and workshop-based teaching
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for inspiring young people to achieve their potential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
