Overview

Trainee / Unqualified Teaching Assistant Mainstream — Location: Northamptonshire (including Northampton, Daventry, Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering, Towcester, and Rushden); Start Date: ASAP; Full-time or part-time Temporary with training provided.

The Role and Training

Vision for Education is proud to deliver the National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP) in Northamptonshire, offering a pathway into education for those looking to start a career supporting young people. If you have transferable skills and a passion for learning, we will provide you with online training followed by a paid school placement in one of our partner mainstream primary or secondary schools.

You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with day-to-day learning, behaviour management, and general classroom support.

  • Customer service or hospitality (strong communication and adaptability)

About the Schools

We work with schools located across Northamptonshire, including in Northampton, Wellingborough, Daventry, Corby, Kettering, Towcester, and Rushden. They offer inclusive and welcoming environments where Teaching Assistants are valued members of the team. You will play a key role in helping pupils succeed, including those with additional learning needs.

  • Commitment to a long-term, ongoing placement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS and register with the Update Service
  • Passion for working with children and supporting education
