Higher Level Teaching Assistant (full time, temporary) Rochdale £130 - £150 per day PAYE (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) Start date: September 2026

A specialist SEND and SEMH secondary school in Rochdale is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students who require a highly tailored and supportive approach to education.

In this HLTA SEND role, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and ability levels
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams to support engagement and progress
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

To be successful in this Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) SEND role, you will have:

  • Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting small groups or individual learners
