A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 6 Teacher from September until July. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact while working within a supportive and collaborative team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, prepare pupils for their transition to secondary school, and maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement. This is a full-time, fixed-term role from September to July, suitable for an experienced KS2 teacher or a confident Year 5 teacher looking to step into Year 6.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress.
- Prepare pupils for SATs through high-quality teaching.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2 (Year 6 experience desirable).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment.
- A commitment to raising standards and supporting all learners.
- Experience working with SEN.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
