Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Wolverhampton on a full‑time basis.

The Role

A well‑established specialist school is looking to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4‑19 years with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Working within a nurturing and inclusive environment, you will provide both one‑to‑one and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, develop key life skills, and achieve their individual targets.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver engaging and personalised learning experiences.

You will play a key role in monitoring pupil progress, supporting emotional and social development, and helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils on a one‑to‑one and small group basis.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and achievements.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to suit individual needs and abilities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers.
• Support pupils with personal care requirements where necessary.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.

The successful candidate will

• Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to build strong relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Have a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.

Requirements

• Have a suitable qualification for working with children and young people such as Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Workforce.
• Have experience of working with children with special education needs and disabilities.
• Be confident in your abilities and skills to deal with occasional behavioural challenges.
• Be able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
