Sports Coach

Full‑time or part‑time. Start date September 2026. School type: secondary school. The role combines sports coaching and cover supervision within the Wolverhampton area. Responsibilities include delivering high‑quality sports sessions and supervising classes across various subjects when teachers are absent.

Key Responsibilities

• Cover supervisor: supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lessons across a range of subjects.
• Support students’ learning and address questions about the material.
• Report any issues or concerns to the relevant Head of Department.
• Lead or assist with PE sessions within the PE department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Desirable degree in sports science, physical education or related field.
• Experience coaching various sports to young people.
• Experience in a school setting, particularly as a cover supervisor, a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage students of varying abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
