Vision for Education is seeking Cover Supervisors and highly experienced Teaching Assistantsto work across a range ofSpecial Educational Needs (SEN) schoolsin Somerset and the surrounding areas from October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education or youth work to step into alead classroom role—with full training and support provided.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor in an SEN setting, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
- Support students withSENDandSEMHneeds in small classes or one-to-one
- Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment
- Work alongside experienced SEN professionals to ensure students feel safe, included, and engaged
These roles are ideal for:
- Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Mentors ready to step up
- Graduates exploring a career in teaching or education
- Individuals with youth work or care experience looking to transition into schools
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting young people ineducation, care, or youth settings
- Confidence managing classroom behaviour in a positive, calm way
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about,SENDandSEMH needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A flexible, patient, and resilient approach to challenges
Adegree or Level 3 qualificationis desirable, but not essential if you have relevant experience.
