Overview
We are recruiting Early Career Supply Teachers (ECTs) for work starting in September 2026, based in secondary schools across York and surrounding areas. The role ranges from day‑to‑day supply cover to longer‑term contracts.
ECTs will deliver their subject across Key Stage 3 and 4 to mixed‑ability classes, with high expectations of behaviour and attainment. The position offers the opportunity to gain experience in a range of secondary schools, potentially leading to long‑term or permanent work and signing off part or all of induction.
Responsibilities
Deliver lessons and support pupils in secondary school settings, manage classroom behaviour, and contribute to team meetings.
Qualifications
- Experience working with secondary‑school aged children
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A passion for the progress of secondary‑school pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
