Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Pay: Β£100-Β£110 per day
Contract: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Swadlincote. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide classroom support and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development across the secondary curriculum.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance with their studies or behaviour.
- Helping teachers prepare and deliver engaging lessons.Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
- Supporting the school with maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive environment.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with young people.
- Patient, approachable and encouraging.
- Confident working with secondary-aged pupils.
- Able to build positive relationships and establish trust.
- Reliable, professional and adaptable.
- A strong communicator with good organisational skills.
- Previous experience working in a school or with children/young people is desirable, but not essential.
