Vision for Education is recruiting a Learning Mentor to work within specialist schools and alternative provisions across the Stroud (GL6) area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience in an education setting.

About the Role
As a Learning Mentor, you'll support pupils who may need additional help with learning, behaviour or emotional wellbeing. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you'll play an important role in helping pupils feel confident, engaged and ready to learn.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism and ADHD
- Helping children develop confidence, resilience and independence
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom

Training & Development
No previous school experience is required for this Learning Mentor role.
If you’re new to education, Vision for Education will provide FREE training before you start, including:
- Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Behaviour Management
- SEND Awareness
- Supporting Pupils with SEMH
- Introduction to Working in Schools
Following successful registration, we’ll work closely with you to secure placements that suit your skills, experience and availability.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful as a Learning Mentor, you should:
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Be patient, resilient, and approachable
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to learning and professional development
- Have experience in education, care, youth work, mentoring, coaching or support work (desirable but not essential)
- Be able to provide suitable references
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
