Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs?
We are currently working with a specialist SEN school seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their supportive multidisciplinary team.
The school supports children and young people with a range of complex learning needs, communication difficulties and SEND, providing a nurturing and highly personalised environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, support staff, families and other professionals to assess and support students with their communication and language needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and identifying pupils' speech, language and communication needs.
- Developing and delivering personalised therapy programmes.
- Providing individual and small-group interventions.
- Supporting pupils with expressive and receptive language difficulties.
- Supporting students with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
- Providing advice, guidance and training to school staff.
- Monitoring and evaluating students' progress.
- Contributing to EHCP outcomes and reviews.
- Working with families and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach.
- Maintaining accurate records and clinical documentation.
About You
We are looking for a fully qualified Speech and Language Therapist who:
- Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
- Has experience working with children or young people.
- Has experience within an SEN, specialist school or similar setting.
- Has a strong understanding of speech, language and communication needs.
- Is confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is patient, compassionate and child-centred.
- Can develop positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
