The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach students who are unable to access mainstream education. The SEND tutor will teach Maths and English (at various levels) to support academic and personal development, 1:1 learning, and a tailored approach to teaching. The aim is to build knowledge and confidence so that learners can grow. Sessions may take place online, in schools, local communities or in student homes. This is an inspiring role for those who want to support young people and feel rewarded every day.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Maths and English sessions at varying levels
  • Support learners who are unable to access mainstream education
  • Facilitate 1:1 learning with a tailored teaching approach
  • Build knowledge and confidence in learners
  • Sessions may be conducted online, in schools, local communities or in student homes
  • Monitor progress and provide weekly reports

Qualifications

  • Ability to deliver Maths and English sessions
  • Experience of working with young people with SEND, SEMH and trauma
  • Teaching qualifications/experience
