Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in supportive primary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham?

About the role

As a Supply SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Roles may involve supporting children on a 1:1 basis, leading small-group interventions, or assisting within the classroom to ensure pupils can fully access learning. You’ll have the flexibility to choose between day-to-day assignments and longer-term placements, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENDCos, and external professionals
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEND
  • Experience working within a UK primary school is highly desirable
  • Possess a patient, resilient, and caring approach
  • Have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Years of previous experience.
