Vision for Education are recruiting experienced sports coaches to transition into the role of PE Cover Supervisor in secondary schools. As a PE Cover Supervisor, you will be covering PE during periods of Teacher absence in secondary schools in York.

The School and the Role
This role is ideal for confident, organised individuals with a background in sport, coaching, or youth work who are looking to gain classroom experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classes during the short-term absence of the teacher, delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects, including practical-based lessons where appropriate. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment by managing behaviour, engaging students, completing registers, and providing feedback to teaching staff. Opportunities are available for day-to-day supply, longer-term placements, and potential permanent roles.
To be considered for this Cover Supervisor role, you must:
- Have recent experience in sports coaching, PE, youth work, or education
- Be confident working with secondary-aged students
- Hold GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Be reliable, adaptable, and keen to work in a school environment
- A degree (or working towards one) is desirable but not essential
- Be able to provide suitable references, hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS, and have the Right to Work in the UK
