Do you believe in second chances and the power of education to transform lives? The Warwickshire Academy, a specialist SEMH school, is looking for a dedicated and resilient Teacher to join our passionate team. This is a full-time role within a nurturing school that supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, aiming to empower every young person to thrive both personally and academically. You will additionally be supporting as a tutor for a Year 9 Class group.

We provide a supportive, structured learning environment designed to meet the complex and individual needs of our pupils. As a Teacher at The Warwickshire Academy, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering personalised, engaging lessons while helping to foster resilience, build trust, and promote emotional regulation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver well-structured, student-centred lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and values
  • Inspire, challenge and motivate pupils through high expectations and adaptive teaching
  • Assess and report on student progress, using data to inform your approach
  • Prepare students for external tests and assessments
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and passion for your teaching area

School Contribution & Curriculum Development

  • Contribute to whole-school strategies, policy implementation, and curriculum development
  • Provide cover when required and support curriculum coordination with subject leads
  • Work collaboratively on pupil development to ensure coordinated and effective outcomes

Wellbeing, Behaviour & Safeguarding

  • Promote the safety, wellbeing, and mental health of students
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and foster a safe, calm classroom environment
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and model professional, ethical conduct at all times

Professional Development

  • Take part in school appraisal processes and CPD opportunities
  • Support the development of colleagues and contribute to subject leadership (where applicable)
  • Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve your teaching

Working With Others

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external agencies
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and work closely with pastoral staff
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and daily life of the school during structured and unstructured times

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A commitment to trauma-informed and inclusive practices
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or a strong interest in specialist settings
  • Calm, consistent, and adaptable with strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a new DBS check
