We are seeking additional Trainee Behaviour Support Workers to work within partner Schools across Medway.

About the role

The role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as ASC, PMLD, MLD, and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work within group and 1:1 settings with a range of ages and learning levels. Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils and ensure they are not displaying triggers or signs of unease. Our main aim is to offer the best possible support to pupils. A nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude will be key to success in this role.

About the school

The mainstream Primary Schools are accessible via public transport and offer free parking onsite. They support a diverse group of pupils with complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviours. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or supply support staff.

Requirements

  • To be considered for the role you will want a career supporting children.
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Recent experience within the last 2 years working with children or young people, ideally in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from these roles.
